Naw I mean I saw him (Stewart) do it in practice and uhh......he can have it. I'm not....I wasn't....I just didn't feel comfortable doing it tonight...and...it wasn't that it was knarly it's just that...you know there's always that "what if" and when you're riding on that limit and you're comfortable...you know you can push the edge of that envelope and do it. I saw Ryan try it in the main and come out real short and almost ended his night there so uh....I just try to be smart ...try to race...stay low in the three-three and work on other areas of the track. Like I said, I felt like I learned a lot tonight so it was good.

2 time supercross champion, 4th all time in wins, worth about $30 million, team owner. That my friends is one smart man who knows how to calculate and take risks worth taking.

I mean absolutely no disrespect to any of the guys out there, but James "grew up" in the big boy class racing Ricky. And beat him sometimes to boot! I don't think he's under any unbearable pressure out there.

With that, another thing that bugs the shit out of me is all this talk about how James always crashes. I mean, judging by what's written here (far too often), James never actually finished a race without crashing. Let alone won any titles!

I mean, do some of you watch the same races I do?

I think the only guy right now that is pushing James is RV. I think it takes a rider who at certain times is willing to risk it all to be the fastest during a race to really push him. RV has that as did RC, it's an endless desire to win.

I was never a real fan of Reed until this year. Its so refreshing to hear a rider who will actually honestly say what is on his mind rather than always say the same reiterated speech when asked anything about motocross.

If you look at the videos from James practice track he does some big quad sections. I am sure for James the quad was just another day at the office.

From what I could tell (since there was so little video of him from last night in the Main) he isn't being pushed very much at all. He probably looked smoother than I have ever seen him look. The big deal shouldn't have been that he got out front and held a good lead it should be the ease with which he seemed to do it. He looked very in control. That should have the other riders nervous more than just the fact that he won. That's just MHO.

Totally agree...

Man, I sure as shit had some wishful thinking going into this season that we were going to see five way battles. Boy, was I wrong. Unless the tracks are easy, like the first four rounds where everybody is doing the same thing, this season might be a snoozer.

SOOO true on so many level's...I wish the people at home could have seen that......hahah it also reminded me and my pops of when danny smith on a 125 hucked the quad at A2 back in the early 2000s

Yep, very fitting place for it. Kind of hard to nut up and let it all hang out when your pre-ride prep includes cuddling with ur infant. The Chad Reed of 3 years ago would have hit that quad, no doubt.

You are absolutely right! At the level these guys are at, having the "What If" question in you head can lead to mid-pack finishes. If you have that question in your head at too many races, it might be time to call it a day or career. I know there wasn't anyone else doing the section, but if you wait for a rider that is doing it to find out the "What If" consequences you may find yourself fighting a losing battle. Seeing this picture and thinking about my own child, I have that question in my head all the time.

Villopoto and Dungey don't have kids and weren't doing it. I don't think having kids enters into it.
