CR 125 1982 Cylinder options

Just purchaced a nice CR 125 1982 without cylinder. My friend has a 1981 cylinder and head for sale. Can i use a 1981 cylinder on my Honda.

I have two 81 CR125's, and if memory serves me, the cylinders are interchangeable. However, the 81 cylinder has a very peaky powerband. If I were you, I would try to find an 82 cylinder. Ebay is your best bet.
However, if you are intent on trying the 81 cylinder, see if your friend will let you see if it will fit-up before you buy it.

Agree with the suggestion to get an '82 cylinder. Be sure to get the '82 head too. I don't believe an '81 head will work on an '82 cylinder. We have an '82 and it is a strong-running motor -- not too peaky
