Took 'em 50 shots (one guy fired 31 times) to kill an innocent man.
And then they're acquitted. No wonder they chose not to have a jury trial.

50 shots and he was hit 31 times, by any chance does anyone know what type of weapon he was shot with?

This case doesn't stop civil litigation though - I think all it did was say they didn't act criminally. There could also be a Federal case brought.
HIs family will likely end up with a huge settlement based on negligent - not criminal - behavior.
Locking up 3 cops (which is a de facto death sentence) is reasonable if it can be proved they ambushed the guy or agreed to kill him beforehand. Cops have to make life and death decisions as part of their jobs, but they're not perfect...
