Try watching it with the volume off. I can say this with 32 years in the sport, jeff, ralph, ricky and erin are the worst broadcast team ever. I liked Emig and Ricky as racers and erin has a fantastic rack but they have no talent for the booth. Ralph is just a straight up knob that insists on saying the stupidest most irrelevant comments I've ever heard.

Davey coombs, David Bailey in the booth and Ping or Weege on the ground. Done. Its time to clean house and put the focus of the 1 hour show back on the actual racing.

Don't even get me started about 50 minutes of shitty filler and a 10 minute main, who the hell is running this show. A perfect example is how they showed Stewges qualifier which had Canard in it and thats it and then we get highlights of Reed, RV, Dungey, etc in there qualifier. I think there still blowin JS over the whole traction control controversy.

Im definately not enjoying the broadcasts this year and it seems to be getting worse, am I nuts or what?

You are nuts. What do you expect them to do with a 14 minute main event?..........Show it 3 times? What more do you want?

The "show" needs to be two hours long. Then, they can add in all that filler crap such as interviewing the guy the got 43rd in the lites LCQ and still show the damn racing.

Yes I am nuts. They could start by not having a 14 minute main! If you can have a 1 minute or close to it lap time in Anaheim you can do it in Oakland. If your going to have a 14 minute main then they should bring back the full program, heats, semis and the Lcq. Having 9 transfer from the Qualifier is pointless, if you remember it used to be 4 from the heat, 5 from semi and them 2 from the Lcq. It meant that in each class you'd be guarenteed 6 races plus the main, more than enough to fill a 1 hour program without all the shitty filler. I don't even go to Supercross for this very reason, the fans are getting screwed on quantity, I won't pay $30 or $40 plus all the extras to see the top 20 riders race twice.

No comment on the Broadcast team?

Sheheen actually asked Emig last year which side the clutch lever was on. How did he get that job?

It is not designed to be a motorsport racing event documentary. It is a marketing vehicle for energy drink advertising dollars which line Felds pockets. They are just using our sport as the draw. But you knew this right?

Duh! But ask yourself what came first the chicken or the egg? If feld continues to sell out Supercross then eventually it will be the half time show at a monster truck event. Live television is the only format that gives SX the respect it deserves while providing enough content for the viewers at home to feel satisfied, these 1 hour highlight reels are a joke and certainly don't do the sport justice. I agree that Feld is in the business of making money but if someone like me who has loved this sport for over 30 years has to watch the broadcast with the sound off there is a huge problem with there delivery of the product. I'd love to see numbers on how many fans DVR the race, skip the commercials and the filler, watch there 20 minutes of content and move on.

I personally liked it better with the old heat/semi/lcq/main format.

Yeah, I'd rather spend the money to go ride and then just watch the races on youtube a couple days later...no commercials.

In regards to the 12 second lap times...I agree 100%!!!! There is plenty of room on the floor to maked longer tracks. There is SOOO much empty space. I think tracks should be at least minute to 1:10. Phoenix used to be like !:04 or somewhere in that range. What was it this year...57.6?? Come on!!

So your saying that they don't have the experience to determine how fast it will take the top 5 guys to complete 1 lap around a proposed track design? Then the just build a track with a 1 min minimum lap time and Voila you end up with a 20 min main event. Its not rocket science, in fact the same tracks have been reincarnated dozens and dozens of times over the years by the very same track builders they use today. They just need to have a standard track length or they need to borrow the National system and do 20 minutes plus 2 laps. Either way we need to demand more of a show and give more time to the guys with a bad start so they can make a race of it, short races don't improve racing they limit it.

I think Ricky is improving all the time, I dig when he calls out passes before they happen, and I think Jeff said "dig deep" and "heart rate" a lot less this week, which was nice....

I think the broadcast is alot better when Ricky is on... Jeff is always talking about being mentally tough and physical strength, every week, same thing!

I love the G.O.A.T. but Im not a fan of him in the booth, he's too biased and I really don't think he contributes much except for some good 'ol boy jargon. They need to get guys in the booth who are knowledgable but also understand broadcasting, as far as I can tell they havent found anybody that fits the bill. Art eckman and David Bailey were the best ever. Period. The current bunch of fools don't even come close.

Wondered that myself, as far as I know his health is good, never know what other committments he might have. Might have been the $$$$, Im guessing that they got Emig, RC, Ralph and Erin for what Baileys worth, definately a short sited strategy.
