I believe that's how it all come to light, Alpinestars said hey you guys owe us $50,000 for the mech stuff we haven't been paid so we will take it out of the sponsorship payments.

Then obviously they have said WTF and started looking.

I think the number was much higher than that. I think it was $250k if I remember correctly. They might not have noticed $50k for a while.
