Matt Tiftt , former Nascar driver bought a speedway that had been closed for the last 8 years. They spent the last 9 months re-doing the facility.
Tonight they hosted the World of Outlaw late models in the first night of a 2 night show. Tonight was just a 12k to win event with tomorrow being a 57k to win show.
When the drivers came out in their cars for the feature tonight it was announced at that time that a family (Niss’s?)in the area donated extra funds for the winner of the immediate race to receive 100k instead of the 12k. Pretty neat deal and a heck of a race.
Matt Tiftt (facility owner) also added a mx track on the property.
You’ll have to check it out.
Mansfield Speedway.
Might be a future consideration for a SMX final facility.

We plan on making it up that way this season. It’s not far from us. They have a couple gp races scheduled. Glad to have another track pop up in Ohio.
Watching tonights race right now, that same local family donated to the purse once again right before the feature to make it another 100k to the winner.
I thought you were talking about the surface - it was like a moto track last night! They have it smoothed out a little bit better tonight and the racing has been pretty decent. The more interesting comparison for people is to check out the DirtVision (streaming platform) options and how incredible the features are. You can select drivers to watch their lap time data, closing rates, multiple cameras, along with real time points etc. I don’t pretend to compare a static, 1/2 circle track to a MX track but the concepts from the timing system DirtVision is using would be so cool to incorporate into MX/SX.
Well said. Yes last nights track was like a mx track.
Dirtvision does have a nice platform and they do a nice job.
