I’m having trouble finding any official documentation regarding how to ensure that you’re actually running the custom map that’s been sent to the bike.

I’ve read some people saying it becomes the white map, but nothing actually makes that clear other than random people on the internet repeating it.

The app’s explanation seems confusing as it implies that the custom maps from the app have no effect on the handlebar buttons.

Anyone know with certainty?

I wasn't sure at first either, but did a test by increasing engine braking to maximum and throttle response to minimum.  Made my bike feel like an old XR400.  The map switch should still make the same change between one base setting and another.  Meaning, the changes you make should apply to both maps (standard and advanced).

Interesting! I uploaded one map and couldn't tell much difference but then got rained out before I could try more maps.

Thank you!
