Rv looks great, but James is riding smart. This is shaping up to be the best SX season since the mid 80's......I wouldn't take that name away from James yet.......

Step 1: Get a calculator.

Anaheim 1



Phoenix



Step 4: Look at the individual laptimes for Ryan Villopoto and James Stewart.



Step 5: Add up the total time x 60 and then divide by twenty.



For example, if you add up Ryan Villopoto's 20 individual laptimes and his time is19.65, then you multiply 19.65 x 60 for 1179 and you then divide 1179 by the total number of laps (20) you will get an average laptime of 58.95.



Follow the above pattern for both Ryan Villopoto's times and James Stewart's times and you will see /gasp/ that Stewart has faster laptimes than Ryan Villopoto. The math doesn't lie.



Remember, these are individual laptime totals.
Look at the lap chart you posted, it starts with the 2nd lap and doesnt show a time for anyones 1st lap. Stewart went down on the first lap so he had a very long 1st lap. You cant take out the first lap and get an accurate average lap time. I agree from lap 2-20 Stewart was faster at A1 but from lap 1-20 Villopoto was faster.

so many things also affect this though like how a rider manages through the lappers

Total Race Time
______________ = Average Lap Time

20 laps

Since the gate dropped at the exact same time for all riders, whoever wins the race has the lowest Total Race Time and the lowest Average Lap Time.

Villopoto had it at A1, Stewart had it at PXH, Villopoto had it in LA.

Duh.
