carpal tunnel?

anyone have carpal tunnel surgery? i just had it done n feel alot better but dr. says i cant ride/ gym for 2 months? anyone have expierence with it?

Was the surgery open or endoscopic? Recovery time is a little shorter via the endoscopic route. Most surgeons recommend splinting post surgery although no studies show a conclusive benefit. There is a small chance of entrapment of the nerve within scar tissue which, at least theoretically, is increased with strenuous postoperative activity. 6 weeks is the typical upper limit of postoperative rest/splinting; <6 weeks with the endoscopic method. Then again, what do I know? I'm just another d-bag on the interweb. I would listen to your surgeon. Good luck to you. If you are like most patients, you should do very well.

Had open surgery on both hands. Left hand took a long time to get back to normal, the right hand healed back up a lot sooner. Numbness is gone, glad I had the surgery.

You are lucky, surgery has a very small success rate for Carpal. I am still having problems with mine, I find doing the therapy and wearing my brace helps the most. However, nothing has fixed the issues I am having when I ride. The Flex bars have helped that a lot but still not a cure.

I still use the Flex bars, but my numbness totally disappeared after the surgery. I have nothing negative to say about the surgery.

Before surgery you trusted your DR's opinion, but now you don't want his
opinion after surgery ?

only a canadian would say that! i trust the dr. my surgery went great , no more numbness, i just want to get back in the gym n riding... wanna c how fast others got back on there p[rograms
