YZ125 project opinions

What year.size, budget? 125Project?, IMO one tooth up on the rear sprocket, PC or FMF pipe with 304 silencer or fmf shorty, v force reeds, maxima 927 40-1 vp c-12 mixed 50/50, that bike will rip. Whats your weight skill level etc, intended use race, playride, practice tracks? Or just buy a ktm 150sx. Both great bikes.

Thats the hot ticket, i had it on my yz 250,also if you have the money Enzo does great work on yamahas! Oversize rotor on front i have a braking battfly, same as PC team and Stewarts team. Good stuff, not cheap but quality parts!

From what I remember, V-force3 reeds, SST FMF Pipe, some super fast kid was also saying drop a tooth or two in the rear sprocket helps out tremendously with the bike's gear ration. I can't really remember anything else. Though someone did mention that the SST FMF pipe caused detonation problems. It's been so long ago, I can hardly remember.

I'm looking to build up a new YZ125. All I'm going to do is put PC pipes on it and Vforce3 reeds. Matthes (former Factory Yamaha mechanic) said the PC pipes and Vforce3 increased the power tremendously on Reed's factory YZ250s. Sure it applies to 125s too I assume, but I really don't know shit.

Fmf fatty and shorty. V-force3, jetted properly. And oh yes Maxima 927 castor at 32-40:1 I personally like 36:1

Is a big bore an option in the classes you will run?

The best bang for your buck mods are porting, suspension re-valve, matching the cases, big-bore, pipe, reeds, or higher compression if you don't mind running race-gas. Reputable shops like Forward Motion (Eric Gorr) and Harris Performance can do most of that stuff for relatively cheap. Good luck!

I have an 06 it is the most fun I have ever had on a bike, I had an 05, and thought I wanted a four stroke, so I bought an 06 yz250f, and sold a month later and bought an 06 YZ125. I will never sell it.
