I can get this 2005 CRF 450 top end that’s locked up for $700. The bike looks good and clean, and I think I might could do the work myself with a manual (I’ve done countless 2-strokes). I know a guy that could help me with the valves. Looks like an engine rebuild kit is about $900 (Wiseco).
Still debating if it’s worth it.
For 700 bucks you could get your money back parting it out if the rebuild goes south. I would also budget the cost of a complete head just in case.
Those are great bikes! Do it.
It would be a fun build....parts availability a problem for these yet? Do it!
