Hello Guys,
I'm currently running a VForce4r and had some problems with it. so I´m looking for a new one. I Just order the Boyesen Rad Valve. I ordered the product from a store here in Germany and they said it would fit to my bike. But the Boyesen pack says it is for a KTM SX 250 from 2017-2018. I´m not sure if it is the correct intake for my bike.
Because Boyesen says it doesn't have a correct Rad Valve for a 2019 KTM SX.
From the look it seems like it would fit but I´m not sure if it will work correct.
Does anyone ever tried a Rad Valve42E in a 2019 KTM SX 250? If so, How did it work?
greetings from Germany
I have been wondering about this myself, why the 42E is listed as only fitting up to 2018. What could be different on the 2019-2022 bikes that it would not fit?
The VForce, for example, same part fits 2017-2022 (also same one fits the 125/150). The difference is the VForce uses the stock manifold but the Rad Valve is one piece with a cast manifold. Comparing the stock OEM part numbers, the intake manifold changed from 2018 to 2019. Why did it change? I am not 100% sure, but the frame did change slightly in 2019 so possibly the carb sits slightly different making the angle or length of the intake manifold different.
Optional route for you - what issue are you having with the VForce? Ironically, Boyesen does sell optional reeds made by Carbon Tech to fit the competitor Vforce product! Possibly these are much better quality than the original VForce reeds. https://www.boyesen.com/p1650618-carbon-tech-moto-tass-vf4r-replacement…
I had carb issues the first Ride this year. I know how to tune a Carb and didn‘t change anything on the bike. So i tried to adjust the carb but couldn‘t get the Problem solved. After checking the reeds on the vforce i noticed that they won‘t close correct. Specially on the sides they opend way to much. Since the vforce was put in 25 Hours ago i wasn‘t happy and thought about switching
Hello , i install this Boyesen Rad Valve to my 2021 Husquarna TC 300 .
Together with a Keihin 38 and a Trax Shock the fitment is a Disaster with 4-5mm Offset.

The reason why i Change to the Boyesen :
The OEM Reed was Scrap , then i Change to Vforce 4
Had 3 broken Reed Pedals in 2 Years so i Change to Boyesen
Run the Boyesen on all my Ktms, they run perfekt but the fitment on the 2019-2022 KTM-Husky is Not ok
But I don’t know how it looks like with Standard Mikuni and WP Shock

Is it length or angle that is off?
I don’t have an answer for you, but KTM changed something in 2019 as those bikes made more power then the 17-18 and they didn’t really say anything about it. Stock the 17-18 made like 47.5hp and the 19+ made something like 49.
sorry for the late response, I was sick the last days...
the Boyesen seem to be way longer than the normal intake with the Vforece. the angle seems to be the same.
i will try to fit the Boyesen tonight. it seems to be 2cm longer then the stock intake with the Vforce. perhaps I can make it work. I also found some threads here on vitalmx where some one put it in a 2019 KTM. I will keep you updated
Angle and lenght is different, but as i said don’t know how it looks like with Mikuni and Standard WP Shock
One difference that matters. You are using the screw top PWK (91mm length) instead of the flat top PWK-AG (75mm length). The PWK-AG is same/close length to the stock Mikuni. Your longer carb will add more variables to the equation.
You are right it’s not the best combination Boyesen-Keihin -Trax , but it works good.
I prefer the old Keihin over the newer ones, so simple to Change the Needles with the Srew Cap
