We do estate sales... stamps...?

We hired a stamp guy to sell them and they get a cut.

It would be overwhelming to piece out and sell whole collections...in my experience.

I'm talking over 5,000 stamps dead mint though...

I joined a stamp collecting club thru school in 1976  (called junior philatelists)  Still have the Harris Liberty binder and a major collection in it somewhere in my closet.

My aunt, who traveled a bit and had friends who did sent my wife stamps in th  2000's from old letters which had been sent to her and others .

I've never gone through them but found them whilst looking for my modest collection which I think I just added to my wife's.

Anyways,  these are from the 1930's. I have many more.

After a little Googlin' there seems to be lots of old junior philatelists like me selling their stuff from 50+ years ago.

I need to dig mine out and take a few pics.  Seems theres so many of them out there,  not any value to that old stuff anymore.  And mine has a LOT of really, really old stamps in it.  Much of which,  is hinged mint.

I was mainly wondering if they were worth selling since some looked very unique but doing some quick eBay searches it appears they are available for about $3 each with the shipping but one looked a little more. I think it was the Lincoln one.

BTW did you know a stamp price is going to be raised soon up to 95 cents

I think it is.

This thread has me going down a rabbit hole of researching a mans name that is on one of the envelopes that my aunt gave me. Fascinating self made man that I only remember him as the 6 year old i was at the time when I ate with my parents and aunt in the house he built in Riverside California in 1926.

I'm debating starting a topic on him in an attempt to get the fewest views ever at Vital. 😀

1932 LA Olympics stamp.

My mom lived near The L.A. Collisium in the 1940's with her older adult sister. Their father had died the year before when mom, the youngest of 7 was nine years old and she shuffled between 2 olders sisters and her mother in the time after till she married dad in 1950.

Mom tells the story of being asleep in this LA house when her older sister came home from her late night job. A man had followed her and busted into the house to rape my aunt. She tricked him and fought him off. My mom slept through it all.

A certain percentage,...a too high percentage of us men have always been shit.

It also appears this letter was sent from the S.S. President Jefferson?

There is probably a much bigger story of the man who sent this letter from that ship and why.

I started to ask one of you virgins if this Looney Tunes stamp is valuable. I only have one. Then, a quick Google search revealed that they’re selling for $15 for an entire sheet on Amazon. Awesome.
