I figured I’d go ahead and build a bit of a hybrid with a JGR team head and the bar x bottom end.

I started with measuring my clearances of a shelf JE piston, measuring 1.12mm pretty much all around, so I was safe there as most of I believe Dean ran the JGR stuff around .9mm. The compression calculators I found online were saying I was in the ballpark of 14.3-14.7:1, so I’m ok with that. While I was measuring things I grabbed a picture of the billet rod and polished crank if you’re into that sorta thing. IMG 5365 2

Next was to throw a new timing chain on, and while I had the stator off I noticed the lighter version flywheel (5.9 inertia vs 6.2 of oem). You can see the lack of the ring on the backside on the lighter one on the left. IMG 5383 3.jpeg?VersionId=Qo37CNRXQQw.p

Now that the engine is bolted back together, I’m excited to do a back to back test to compare the standard length rod to the 94mm. First I need to build a water pump battery though.

Love the details man! If you have any old parts that you’re looking to get rid of, let me know!

Have you found decent offset pegs outside of the raptors? I’m a 6’ with 13 boot and find myself getting my foot locked under the brake pedal or clutch lever pretty often.

Fastway pegs helped us out with that exact thing for Cody Groves. He runs their pegs with the bushing flipped to offset the pegs down and back on the pin. I’m not sure if they list the Suzuki parts on the website, but they definitely have them. They also fit an old Yamaha trail bike if I remember correctly. You’ll have to grind down the head of the bolt that holds the peg bracket to the frame for the Fastway pegs to fold up, but it’s nothing major. Be warned though: LOCTITE EVERY PIN AND THE CAMBER ADJUSTER on the Fastway pegs.

I’m also a size 13, but knock on wood I still feel fine on stock pegs and shifter personally.
