Guess who will be the rider to get the worst start during the SX season and come back to win the race. In the past JS could start dead last and come back and win a race. That is not a possibility this year if people stay healthy. So how bad of a start can you get this year and still come back and win? It will have to be tracked after the first lap when the riders are on the timers. I am going to say RV does it from 12th.

I don't think we will see a lot of come from behind wins this year. If a top guy is further than say 5th or 6th, he will have a tough time given they are all at about the same speed.

Exactly. That's why I thought it would be fun to predict who can do it from the farthest back

i would say stewart no doubt. his ability to slice through guys is unlike that of anyone i have ever seen.

unfortunately, that may also be his biggest problem, slicing through guys and not going around them.

Wow! You really think RV could come back from an outside the top 10 start and beat the likes of Dungey, Stewart and Reed? I mean, nothing against RV, the guy is a beast.....but I don't think he'd be that much faster.

I honestly think if any of the top players are outside the top 5 (if the others are 1st, 2nd and 3rd) at the end of the first lap, they will have a very hard time winning from there.

Is it Saturday yet?

I hope for the sake of the other riders that JS7 does not ever get a bad start. I will say he does make quick work of the pack most times..

Not with Dungey, Reed and Villopoto in that pack!

Agreed. If any of the top 4 get the holeshot, it's going to be damn near impossible to come from behind and catch them before they've checked out.

But to contribute to the thread, the only person I think can do it is Stewart. And I'd say MAYBE as far back as 9th, but I still don't see that happening.

Yeah, I meant the back of the pack. If he gets a bad start, I don't see him catching the leaders. Same goes for the rest of the top 5.

If this is your idea of fun, you should try some hookers and blow.

I personally think of the top 4 JS will be the only one that can come from mid pack to win. RV has historically in SX not been able to get through the field from a bad start and Ryan Dungey had a hard time doing it last year with the field thinned down. CR IMO won't have the speed needed to slice through the top 3 with a 4th place start . Then there's JS. He has historically had his best races with mid pack starts. As long as he can stay up and not scrub his way across the face of a triple and get landed on , like to did to Partridge last year , he'll pull off a few come from behind wins. I think , on the right night, with the right circumstances JS can come from as far back as 15th or so and win. The way he slices through people is insane and scary to watch at times but there's nobody better at it.

I think that the top 4 guys may be able come through the pack from last and reach the 5th or 6th position (Remember Reed and and Stewart in 09?). However, when either one of them reaches the top 5 or 6, I doubt he will have time to pass any other rider because he would be challenging the other "fantastic 4" and a couple of inspired sleepers such as Canard, Grant, Millsaps, Short and Tedesco. Of course, this is based on the assumption that the "fantastic 4" will be indeed racing at a similar pace week in week out...
