I read "A Devil on One Shoulder and an Angel on the Other," the story of Blind Melon's singer, and it was really good and really gave me a whole new view of their music and life.
I just finished watching the documentary of archived footage he recorded of himself up until hours before his death. It was just really captivating, the type of person he was. It's a good watch, like any other person, be boring as shit if you have an hour, though fair warning, he does hang dong in it.

I'll definitely have to check this out. I saw Blind Melon at a little club in Pacific Beach (San Diego) in '91 or '92 (just before No Rain took off). Probably 300 - 350 people in the audience, and they absolutely blew the roof off the place. I've been to 100+ shows in the last 35 years, and that one is still the best one, hands down.
Very jealous
He grew up in my home town area. I met his mom years ago at a yard sale she was having and bought some furniture from her. Don't remember how we got on the topic of her son. He had been dead for several years and she talked openly about his life and hers. She'd been a nanny for some high profile families and had traveled extensively as part of her work. He's buried about 2 miles from where I live and at that time they had been having a celebration of life gathering at his grave site every year. Don't know if they still do that.
