Could be a possibility. I know their suspension tech Jake Price owns his own suspension service company on the side. So maybe he is taking over full time for the team
I have a little info on this.
Ross / Enzo has supported the team since the early day. At first this was with testing, service, and components (they bought some stuff, as every factory level team dos).
Eventually the team brought on an in-house tech as it grew. Drew Hopkins was the first I believe…maybe around 2013? Soemthing like that. Ross still helped with setting and component advice, helped source stuff from KYB, occasionally assisted in testing when requested.
The team has continued to grow and has since added more techs. I think the 250 team has two right now, Jake Price and another tech they just hired from REP/HEP.
I was told that Star requested more material support and it just wasn’t feesable for Enzo / KYB USA anymore. Now the team is going the route of potentially selling that branding space to a sponsor to offset their in-house costs of technicians and materials.
The 450 program will maintain KYB branding as the program is funded by Yamaha’s budget and Yamaha pays KYB for the materials and assistance, and KYB covers some. Although, Star hired their prior KYB tech (Ricki Gilmore) directly at the beginning of this year.
