so i had my first race this weekend, (arenacross ps) i started in junior, but was third to last in my first practice. so i switched to beginner. BAD IDEA. in practice noone crashed, and i was the fastest in the 3 heats i practiced in. then i miss my gate pick race because my dad was off "warming up my bike" and blazing up and down the parking lot on it, so i got last gate pick. then they stuck another person in the lineup, so i had to start BEHIND some one. then it just went to shit. the rider i started behind killed his bike of the start so i almost wheelied over trying to go around him. then outta the first corner and into the whoops, the kid slightly ahead of me swaps out and takes me out. i get up, proceed to pass four people on the next lap. then as i'm hittin the rythem section, two people crash on the landing of the jump in front of me, with their bikes spread across the whole thing, and i nail the first bike, go over the bars, land on my face, fracture my wrist and sternum (from the neck brace i think) and effectively end my race. WOW. shoulda stuck with jr, even though i was third to last in practice, only 2 crashes happened all night in that class.

Racing IS NOT written in stone , and a lot ( not always , but a lot ) of times , the fastest guy doesn't always win the race. Arena X races are extremely aggressive anyways and it would definitely not be my first choice for someone competing in their first race.
When you get healed up , and get back into riding shape , try it again .....but this time on an outdoor track. Hopefully a track that is large enough where you can utilize your speed a little better without using other riders as obstacles......Arena X is soooo friggin' tight! ( even for the pro's )
Word of advice.....( and I know you don't wanna hear this ) stay in the beginner class for at least a few races....even if you dominate it! It will help you more than you think. Get the "racing thing" down a little better , and get used to actually racing with other guys. IF you do win in the beginner class for a few races , it will help build your confidence to move on up to the Juniors..........and believe me....depending on where you race , some of those Juniors can haul the mail! Plan on staying in that class for at least a year or two and don't even think about moving to INT until you are winning that class at just about every track you race.
Get healed up , and get back out there. I'm sorry you had a bad experience in your first race. I remember getting my nose broken in my first race and I finished the day out in a lot of pain! I ended up getting a 5th place ( in 1982 ) and still have that trophy! It was a start for my racing that lasted roughly 30 years......and even with all my injuries....i wouldn't take any of it back.
YOU POPPED YOUR CHERRY!!
Bummer on getting hurt and welcome to the game
Heal up and go do it again
better luck next time.
It's all a learning experience.
p.s tell your dad not to fcuk your tyres up and miss your gate pick riding in the car park.
Oh, and just a heads up for lovers of the animated avatars...those are going away some time in the future. So you may want to schedule some alone time to deal with it.
Pit Row
I only kid...
Seriously....
When it comes to racing, there is no way to learn, other then getting some seat time racing.
Take what you learned from your first race and apply it to your next race.
The begger classes always have a bit or carnage though (especially the 125/250F class).
You should really try to master/work on your starts.
Normally in that class on those small indoor tracks a start will go along ways.
Holeshot and be gone, you never see anyone else on that track unless you are lapping them.
Didnt you say you were racing a 125?
Dont know if this will help much, but on those smaller indoor horse arena tracks back in the day ,I used to run a 53 tooth rear sprocket. That thing was mighty for full throttle 2nd gear starts and I always got some big holeshots with running that setup. We also would let out a bit of tire pressure to get that extra grip on those tiny tracks.
Good luck to you.
shit you was worse than this....FOOL LOL
Go get em Pops!!! Fuck the Ballerinacross
