It's not what Grieby posted that got him the douche bag comment but how he posted it. I'm am 100% in favor of everyone having their personal opinions and freely posting those opinions. It's a fact that the majority of people in this thread, to my surprise, share a similar opinion as Grieby. Did you hear me say anything about anyone else? No! I did state a generalized opinion about those that say there's a chance Darius would sue. I stand behind my opinion that those posters are morons. A guy ends up in a wheelchair from a MX crash he had at a MX park and nobody was sued tries to race and some posters say he shouldn't because he might sue? IMO if you think there's any chance he'd sue now if he crashed again you're a moron.
You stated everyone has a right to their opinion and I agree. If my opinion is that a certain post is moronic or a certain poster is a moron I to have the write to state my opinion.

I feel bad for the kid and I think he would have done well.
Make an adaptive class or stagger him behind the C class. I know exactly what it feels like to have to ride like he does, what every rut, hard spot, slick spot, loamy spot feels like when you cannot take your legs off the pegs. I also know what it feels like to not have full trunk strngth, even though he is a para, there is no way his abdominal muscles all work fully. Gatorback is muddy in the am, rutted in the middle, rutted and glass in the evening, and with some serious pot holes and hills. My respect for this kid is through the roof and I teared up watching that video, but I know what the speeds are like in these classes at an amateur national especially a gnarly track like Gatorback and I do not feel he would be safe taking off in the middle of all those guys. Outside gate, last, yes.
An amateur national like this is an "able-bodied" sport with "able-bodied" classes, and as a track owner/promoter/quadriplegic myself I realize you have to look at it like this. Maybe the Gatorback crew jumped the gun, but just as an "opinion" I would not feel safe letting him race at THIS event. Maybe an "adaptive" class could have been created and staggered behind the Supermini or Schoolboy class or Vet class or something. Sure he'd be the only one in it but he'd be on the track and all parties covered.
The thing is you have to realize is this isn't X Games with an adaptive class, it is an Amateur National with all able-bodied athletes and classes. His balance is impaired and his muscle memory and reaction time is impaired, no two ways about it. I know, I have ridden post-traumatic-spinal injury and know what it feels like.
Darius-I will talk to Wyn and we will make an adaptive class for us next year and we can battle it out on the great Gatorback, I promise. I will see if I can get him to pay your way down too, the situation can be fixed and made for a great future for us fallen riders without bashing tracks owners and tracks. We need these events and rides and families more than ever, stop the negativity.

Pit Row
ya'll are too stupid...
they won't let him ride cause he refuses to tape up his headlight!
Good luck.
In district 6 they let a guy (Harold Glissen) ride all the time and he has a handicap of having only one hand.
I hate the crew did not give you more of a chance down there, I wish I had known about this, I was down there Wednesday for the day with Davi Milsaps and surely we could have figured this out. I hate this happened, but bud we can move forward. If you can run top 10 in B and C down there sitting down the whole time you are a baddddd dude. You have to understand it is hard for me to understand that after watching Ricky James and Henry ride and my experience of my own - it's tough. I guess I need an updated video than the one someone posted of you on here, that left was giving you fits.
And I am not defending anyone at Gatorback, I just wanted to maybe offer a different perspective on the issue. The fact that this is one of the biggest amateur races of the year, not a weekend race with 20 or so riders that know you and everything. If it were me as owner or ref at Gatorback, I would have made you your own class and started you behind one of the smaller vet classes. It would have been a building block in the right direction at least and next year we could have built on that.
Anyway, keep your head up and keep hitting races, you are gonna need the practice because I'm a baddddd dude too, hahaha.
shoot me your number at superc6c7@hotmail.com so we can keep up man.
