I got the Simmons fork lowers painted last night. I’m happy with the color and finish.
Looks like ‘76 Corvette Yellow
How did the flattening agent on the motors turn out ? Pics...
it turned out great. i am very happy with the results.
Getting the correct color in the proper flat to semi gloss. Finish is a challenge for sure. But I think I finally nailed it. I’m very happy with the results. If you look closely at the Vin number. I actually masked it off I did not sand blast of repaint this area and it is the original finish from Honda. So are the interior surfaces. The paint that I applied on the exterior surface is almost matches perfectly.
The mugen frame modified for a 21 inch front wheel patiently awaiting the assembly process. I cannot wait to start reassembling this bike project. I’m very close to start putting this bike back together.
Looks great can't wait to see your progress as you build these up. This color sheen is what keeps me from building my 1980 kitted bike that was sprayed with a high gloss and I am not happy about the color and sheen. Would you be willing to provide what your paint ,flattening agent and ratios are? If not I understand.
BASF Limco single stage urethane color coat
Mixed at… for parts paint, two parts flattening agent, one part hardener…
The flattening agent replaces the reducer.

Thank you for the info. This will be another step closer to getting the proper finish.
Hey no problem.
The hubs are Sandblasted and masked ready for paint…
Painted hubs and baked in oven…
Polishing, axles, swingarm pivot bolt, and steering stem in lathe.
I had to fix the aluminum, steering stem cap by hand, filing it down to the next size of socket.
Someone had really mangled this cap with pliers.🤦🏻
