After seeing lots of riders using Grip Tape in different areas of there bikes I decided I would try some for myself. I found one shop on eBay that did the highest quality grip tape at a reasonable price!! I bought 2 300mm x 300mm sheets and put it on my airbox and the lower half of my side panels, I have used it for more than 8 rides and I couldn’t believe the amount of extra grip and control it provides and it helps save my graphics!! (You can buy it from them in clear or black). It also didn’t cause any wear at all to my kit or boots I have copied a link for the eBay shop that it can be bought from if any of you are interested in trying some yourself. I have used the cheaper skate board stuff that can be found elsewhere but it didn’t last long and this is much longer lasting and miles cheaper!! Just thought I would let you know about this and tell you what I thought about it as there isn’t much info about it but many of the top riders use it.

I put some on my 7 year old daughter's arm... makes it a hell of a lot easier to grab her at Disneyland and yell, "NO, NO ICE CREAM RIGHT NOW, COMON!" Laughing

Never on my bike though, prolly works great.

Most of those guys grip the bike really hard with their legs already, and can chew through a set of graphics in record time. It all depends on how much grip you want.

I tried it, but it ripped holes in the knees of my pants and even disentegrated the threads on the inside leather area of my boots. Kind of ruined my gear real quick-like. Excellent grip, but not worth the damage.

I can say from experience this stuff did not damage my kit and boots in anyway!! What stuff did you try?

I've always been curious if guys are putting skateboard style grip tape on there, which is like sandpaper, or the stuff like you can get from KTM which isn't abrasive, it's just some kind of textured rubber stuff. The latter seems like it would be great on the frame just above the pegs but not up by the shrouds really.. Just my thoughts.

So is this Ebay stuff gritty like sandpaper??

Yeah the eBay stuff is like the sandpaper and is perfect for the frame and airbox! I also understand what you are saying about the shrouds/ Rad scoops. I have spoke to them and they have said that they are planning on bringing a clear silicone rubber sheet out which would be perfect for the shrouds!! They said they will get back to me later so as soon as i know more i will let you know on here!

I'm liking this stuff. I think I will end up using this. I skated for years and I wouldn't want that stuff rubbing up on my gear, my knees are wearing through after only a couple months with no grip tape lol!

I just use this seat, it works great, its comfortable, and it doesn't shred your gear like grip tape does.
