Hello,

I’ve just buy this Rm 250 2005, my project is to restored it and ride it sometimes to change a little bit of the 4 strokes 🙂

It’s my second RM, the first it’s a 2006 I’ve restored a few years ago but it’s now too clean to ride it 😅 Maybe I'll make a post to present it later

The general condition of the motorcycle is not bad but the previous owner wanted to do the engine maintenance himself and it is now out of order. She smokes a lot. He decided to sell it as it is because the mechanic is not for him 😅

after a few investigations, I discover he mount the crankshaft seal on the clutch side in the wrong direction, so the oil of the gear box passed through the cylinder and caused the smoke.

So I decided to completely disassemble the engine and check everything

some great surprises: cylinder is in good shape, new Wossner rod, no crankcase dommage

And some bad surprises: the gearbox need some new pignons and there are a lot of work on the chassis and the electrical (air box is cracked, the ignition coil is neglected,…)

Stay tuned for more!

That is looking good.  I have a 2005 RM that has been sitting in my garage since 2007.rm.jpg?VersionId=A6yPl6BaoWXBatpfVP6xmjiUcWmCoVu

There are some progress on the built : I’m still waiting the piston to finish the engine but almost all the chassis parts are clean and ready for reassembled

The pegs was on the bike when I bought it, I don’t know what brand it is but they look new so I decided to keep them. They are in aluminum with a steel insert
