So I found a aftermarket Mugen cone pipe and silencer. I ended up buying them thinking about using them on my project? Not quite sure yet? Can’t decide if I’m going to go with these or the mugen Pipe and silencer that came with the kit?

The original handlebars are straightened, stripped and painted. Done and ready to go.
79 CR 125 gas tank is stripped of paint and ready for repairs and primer and a new paint job next week.
You never know what you’ll find when you strip gas tanks of their paint. Like all these grinder marks on this tank. I will have my hands full repairing this.
Fox Air Shox and Simmons forks are disassembled and ready for refurbishing and rebuild. Will be installing all new seals.
So I went ahead and splurged and spent the money and had a company called KLP racing manufacture me a perfect copy of a 79RC 125 swingarm. I just received a swingarm. And I am extremely happy with it. It is a work of art. I will be using this on the Mugen build. Because these swingarms did come on the 79 Mugen‘s. KOP can manufacture copies of almost any swingarm out there. So if you have a swingarm that you need to have it made contact klpracing.com.
Pit Row
It is the same swingarm that is on this bike.
Beautiful work. New bikes are cool, but those late 70s and 80s works bike are pure eye candy.
The gas tank is primed and ready for paint.,, I will be painting it this week.
👍
The engine disassembly has begun. The engine will be completely disassembled sandblasted vapor, honed, repainted, and original red color. All new bearings and seals and gaskets installed on reassembly.
Everything inside the engine looks good except for the crank. The crank is no good and will need replaced. Looks like I’ll have to disassemble my donor engine. To get the necessary parts. Need to rebuild the Mugen engine.
