I amn looking for a bike to get me thru the winter till spring and I have a line on a 2005 RMZ450. Any known issues? I thought I remembered that the cam chain tensioners had issues early on but that was it. I rode my buddies when he had one and liked it. Anything I should look for?

How much are you spending? How many hours on the bike?, Maybe save the money till spring and get something newer! My buddy had an 07, it was bulletproof, he took real good care of it, oil changes, air filter etc!

i have one that had to have the bottom and top end done but that was in 08 bike was strong and had great feel in the corners. i put weisco parts in it and sold the bike if the price is good and hrs are low i would do it. worst case is it needs a piston and ring and i would just do it at 195 for the parts its worth the time and labor if you are doing the work youself.

Well it has 25 hours on it. All stock with a spark arrestor for it. The guy was older and trail rode it. He is asking 3k with a 3 place trailer as well. It also comes with a Athena 470 BB kit as well not installed brand new in the box. It also has the team suzuki graphics.

If the hrs are correct that is a good deal on a bike with little hrs. but i would try and skip the extras and get he bike for closer to 2.2k

yeah I agree with ya. I dont really need the trailer, my buddy is going to buy that but yeah it is a clean bike and after losing my other 2 in a garage fire over the weekend I dont need a brand new one to sit 90% of the winter.

Offer him$2250 cash in hand,get a manual, a title , or proof of ownership, and write out a receipt you both sign to CYA! Date it and describe bike and vin. Good Luck!
