'Oz SX: Matt Moss speaks out about 2011 switch to KTM'
Defending Pro Lites Super X, Australasian Supercross Champion, Matt Moss has spoken out about his switch to JDR Motorex KTM for 2011, confirming the news in an LKI film released over the weekend.
Moss will leave the Rockstar Motul Suzuki team for the factory KTM effort next season in his full time comeback to Australia after a difficult season in the AMA this year.
“My plans for 2011 are to switch to a KTM for JDR Motorsports,” Moss confirmed. “Nothing against Suzuki, they’ve given me a great three years and we’ve won a lot of championships.”
The deal sets Moss up for a return to the U.S. in 2012, the JDR outfit launching a team in America next season to be spearheaded by PJ Larsen and Tye Simmonds.
“The deal for me is that I want to go back to America and it’s just a personal thing,” 23-year-old Moss said. “JDR Motorsports offered that in their deal, so I jumped on that and hopefully 2011 can bring bigger and better things.
“I want to go back to America, that’s my main priority right now – to get fit, healthy and go win a championship over there.”
It’s expected Moss will ride a 250 SX-F in the Pro Lites class next season, hoping to win both the MX Nationals and Super X titles before returning to the AMA for the following season.
