early-mid 90s on RMD.. Did a search and it sure brought back memories! Too bad google only goes back as far as 1998ish.
I found RMD posts I made in April of 95 but I don't think everything was saved. And a reply from the heir to the gooseneck trailer empire.

got my first computer from preston petty. when i went to pick it up he'd completely dismantled it, claiming if i wanted to have one, i'd better know how it goes together and why it does what it does.
as far as bbs, i danced with darpa until prodigy, sears and compuserve showed up. acoustical couplers. baud rate of an arthritic snail.

was on the web-inet before bauer learned to type.
was one of those who dragged tfs into "the industrie", only to see him escape successfully.
knew bevo when he was skinny, oz when he had straight hair and TonyD was called anthony.
chronologically, all of that puts newbies like rupert solidly in the "barely fetus" level.

don't post often. rip through daily.
interesting how much stuff comes to the surface here. sometime accurate. sometimes twisted. some things take weeks to surface here...others in hours. often depends on how many people are hanging around/listening at the time.

what's also interesting are the occasional things that happen, but never make it on the board at all.

overall though, you guys do a pretty good job of shoveling things to the top.
sometimes i think you stomp on it a little too much, but you're good shovelers.

sure beats waiting 3 months for a magazine!

Well.... kids when I signed up on the moto boards you had to push your radio shack Tandy uphill both ways in two feet of snow to log on and all we talked about was how to fix the broken dual shock on the 73 Bultaco and how the "Let Brock Bye" controversy came to be. ahh nevermind you kids today don't understand shit.
