Hey guys,
I’m rebuilding my first engine ever and on my 2000 KX125 and ran into a clutch issue.
When everything is assembled, I have noticeable up-and-down play in the clutch basket. I measured and found that the collar is slightly longer than the bore of the clutch hub, so it seems like nothing is clamping the basket down fully. About everything was bad and worn about this bike and the engine was put together complety wrong
My questions:
Is it normal for the collar to be slightly longer than the hub bore on these bikes?
Should the basket have any vertical play at all, or should it be fully tight with only rotational movement?
If the collar length is wrong, is replacing it the only fix — or can I shim it with a thicker washer?
What does the service manual say? Exploded view to verify correct assembly?
The collar is longer as the hub.(dont know if this is normal) i have installed everything in the same order as the manual
