Stupid phucks. We've got smart thieves here in Southeast Texas. They steal copper from the scrap yard where it's aleady cut up and neatly stacked. You should see them on camera carting it out at night. They'll go to another recycler at sunrise.

SOB's got what they deserved. Due to the nature of the crime, these dirtbags are rarely caught and even when they are the punishment usually amounts to a slap on the wrist.

My nephew had to deal with them breaking into a scrap yard, he's a detective, and doing the same thing. There wasn't a camera and they couldn't figure out how they got in at first, he was talking to me and figured Scotty beamed them in/out . Then he figured out it was an inside job.

Police said they believe they found the couple's children -- ages 3 and 6 -- waiting in a truck near the vacant property when they arrived at the scene Saturday afternoon.

Yeah, that's awesome justice. Two young children without a dad and their mom may die. What's wrong with you people?

Good point. They were clearly candidates for "Parents of the Year" and those poor kids are much worse off without their guidance and the wonderful example they set for them. Pffffft.

Yeah because we all know the death penalty should be enforced for stealing COPPER WIRE! And to add: All parents who commit a crime should die because everyone knows that perfect people like bullpen58 have always set the best examples for other's to live by.

Where did he say they should get the death penalty? I think what he is saying is that is swift karma justice. Just like if a dumbass steals a car and gets hit by a train running from the cops. Swift justice handed out by the universe.

Well, let's think it through. Bullpen thinks it was justice. In fact he seems to think there is no better justice than that, i.e. a man dying and his wife getting burned very badly because they were stealing copper wire. If he thinks that was justice, then why not support the idea that if someone is caught stealing copper wire, they should get the death penalty?

Reading through the crass comments here, it makes me wonder. There were two young children involved and who knows why the parents were stealing? Maybe drugs, maybe they were just desperate and needed money for rent, food, and to pay for heat for their children. And maybe -- despite a bad choice to steal -- they were decent parents who loved their kids and their kids loved their parents.

Some lady is in a hospital suffering from burns and you think the comments are "hilarious". Two innocent children are now pretty damn confused and probably really scared and their parents deserved what they got? Really? You steal and you deserved to be electrocuted and burned? That's karma? Where the hell is karma when a child is being molested or some woman being raped? The universe doesn't hand out justice.

None of you yahoo's can think about that for a moment, you just get your hard on because some dude was electrocuted while committing a crime. Crap like that feeds your twisted side. But it's nice to know you all are so perfect and have never made mistakes. Now imagine if someone you loved, a son or daughter, made a mistake, a bad mistake. Maybe they decided to steal some money and on the way home, they were so nervous they did not pay attention to the stop light and BAM! They were side-smacked by a semi and killed. I doubt if that was someone you loved you would think it was karma or that all the comments people made on the news article were "hilarious".

Billy, how can you not see that they got what was coming to them? Here in Colorado we have the "make my day" law. Basically what this means is that if someone breaks into your house, you are totally within your rights to shoot to kill in the name of self defence. Now is the penalty for burglary death? Nope, nor should it be. But I guarentee thats something thats on the mind of someone planning on robbing a house in colorado.

As for the kids, if the parents are stealing to pay for food, heat, and rent, then guess what? the kids are going to be in a better situation soon anyways because the state will make sure they are in somewhere they have all those things.

Honestly if someone is dumb enough to A) steal copper, and Cool not check if theres power, then sounds to me like we have another candidate for the darwin award on our hands, or I guess in this case on the coroners table.

when i was a kid back in antioch there were 2 teens that wanted to climb a tower and see the view i suppose out on sherman island. everything was cool until one of the kids took his coat off and hung it over a live cable...the zipper went hot and the kid was killed instantly. the other kid was blinded from the arc and was stuck up there for 3 hours watching his best friend fry to a crisp. body was unrecognizable when the paramedics/power company folks got there.

that story has always stuck in my mind and will never leave i suppose.

If those kids were such a concern, why were the parents out stealing with them along ???
They were teaching by example, the reason I posted this was to point out how stupid people are, not that it was a good thing the one died. The whole thing is just fucked up and a reflection of our ignorant society. The parents were showing how they were entitled to money for nothing to their offspring. It IS also a Darwin moment, I guess the little fuckers will now be raised in the system and turn out really well. They also know to check for power before stripping the wire.

Darwin lost this fight already.

They've reproduced. You need to cleanse the gene pool before they breed for it to be effective.

I guess it was a teaching Darwin moment. We as animals will raise others offspring, in the animal world the kids wouldn't make it since they wouldn't have a parental unit there to learn them. YeeHaw

Full of crap on several levels. First, the "system" hardly helps children in these situations unless it is a really critical situation, e.g. abused children, children in dangerous situations (such as meth parents), or some such condition. Often times, foster children go from home to home and are split up.

Secondly, if you were desperate enough, you would steal to feed your children. Who knows why they stole. But the fact that they had their children with them may indicate that on some level they cared -- they certainly didn't leave them at home to fend for themselves. Maybe, they were just really desperate for money to feed their kids.

Finally, stop acting like this is some Darwin award here; the truth is you people have something wrong with you mentally and you get off on people dying through faults of their own. It feeds your sick minds. A drug abuser just wants his drug because he's addicted, a thief wants his money because he needs it for drugs, food, etc. Now they should be punished for their crimes, no doubt, (through our legal system) but you guys seem to think you are so much better than that, you're not, you are far worse since you enjoy someone dying at their own expense which makes you guys FAR bigger losers than the guy stealing. You even call it justice. I call people like you functional psychopaths because that's what you are. You're the kind of people that would kill a guy for stealing your dirt bike or car if you had the chance. You would end someone's life over monetary values.

Billy Jack isn't related to any of them, just not a lunatic like you who gets off on people dying over stealing copper wire.

They'll work all night peeling a copper roof off the church but would never consider working all day to install it.

Fuck em.

Lazy idiots. I can go get a job within 2 hours any day of the week. May not be something I want to do, but I promise I could get one. I've done it in the past. Digging ditches for 7 bucks an hour is better than stealing imo. So is busting tables, cutting grass, and shoveling shit.
