A couple months back, there was a contest where one could enter for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime experience for two, hanging out with the GOAT at one of his races! Well, we entered, and WE WON! Very surprised. I wanna give a HUGE thanks to Monster Energy and any other sponsors that made this contest happen. Unfortunately, I am only 16 years of age and need to be eighteen with a driver's license for proof to participate. My mother and father will go, I guess. Either way, it's a sweet opportunity and we're very blessed. Maybe my dad will have to wear my gopro helmet cam and tape it. Okay, maybe not.

Yeah...But they made the rules, I guess we knew when we signed up. Not like we're gonna turn it down! Laughing

Since I did not win. I am glad you did. The other kids around here could learn a thing or two from you. Take lots of pictures and post them when you get back.

Haha, wow Cyg, thanks a ton. I hope my dad gets some pictures. I won't be able to get the credentials at the gate. Hopefully I will get to meet him some day. He's my hero, that's for sure. I would die to bench race with that guy about our friend Charley Bogard, as I'm sure there would be some stories there.

Get a fake ID built up and hit it. Or tape on one of those funny halloween mustaches and run that.

Thank you. I'm sure he's reading this and calling up his connections to hook me up. Errr...maybe not. Would be nice, though. He'll give me a "scholarship" to train at the Carmichael farm and a factory KTM ride with DeCoster (I already ride KTMs so I could deal with it!Cool ). Man, I really like dreaming. Blush

I guess this scene has some meaning to me now; I thought our chances were probably one in a million too.

Dude, that's a once in a lifetime event. Even if you don't get to ride. I'm sure if you reason with the promoters they will let you go hang out over there. I'm sure Monster doesn't want to get the bad rap of keeping a 16 year old kid from meeting his idol.

Push the issue, whats the worst they could say, no?

Abso-effin'-lutely!

If my sixteen year old son won that, I'd be all over signing whatever waiver they wanted, notarized and in triplicate.

Hell, I'd even pay an attorney to write it up.

Tell your dad to get his ass in gear!!

That must be the most bitter sweet phone call you've ever got (mostly bitter). Like winning a yacht while living in Kansas.

I don't know. It's not too big of an issue. I'm actually not even sure about exactly what we get to do with Ricky. I don't want to upset anyone with the issue, I think I should be grateful. We might be able to work something out, though.

Hahaha, yeah. It definitely was a mix of emotions. Also, I should have cleared this up earlier, it was my dad's entry that won. My mom answered the call, but she told me at first it was just Nascar tickets. At that point I was kind of thinking, "Yeah, whatever." Then she said later, "This isn't just tickets, it's this thing where you get to hang with Ricky Carmichael." I was thinking it was too good to be true. Turns out it kinda was! Pinch

What's Charley Bogard up to these days? Still doing the moto schools? He used to always be at Village Creek or Badlands when I rode at those places frequently and was really nice guy. I asked him for advice about one section of the track one time and since then he'd just walk up to me randomly and compliment me on certain things and give me some hints and tips about others. That's a pretty cool thing to do for a begooner rider like I me at the time.
Sorry to hijack...

Don't worry about the hijack. Yep, he's still doing the motocross schools. He helps me out quite a bit. Your account with him sounds average, Charley is a great guy!
