kxf 250 flooded

My bike has got flooded if that is the right word for that, I mean I got completely in the water. After It got dryied it doesent want to start. I have checked for a spark, I ve put some petrol in to the cylinder and kicked it few times to remove the shit away. Then I ve remove the petrol from the carburetor. No change.... Any ideas please??

clean out your airbox and airfilter, dissaseble your carb, change engine oil and kick it over without spark plug in while holding down kill switch

What if that place was a muddy one?? is there a possibility that the dust might get into the cylinder head? Can I feel free to kick it? I have put a petrol onto the piston so it should made at least a explosion sound but nothin happened....

Personally, if it were my bike, a complete tear down would be in order. I wouldn't risk any dirty water being left inside, not for what parts cost for a 4 stroke.........but thats just me.

I did it on a DKW in 1972 I was like 13 years old...All I did was turn it upside down, drained it out, fired it back up and continued on.

I mean, it was a DKW, I don't think it ran any different...only because it never was a runner anyway. HA !

you may be in for an electrical diagnostic nightmare... or not really. not much to diagnose, it's just a CDI. Do you have a meter to check it with?

Blub blub..... ask yourself these questions. What makes the engine work. (A: air,fuel,compression, and spark. If all these peices are there, it should work. Next question to ask is: Do I need to write (NEVER FLOOD BIKES WITH WATER) ? lol.

how to check that cdi?? Is it possible that the propper time of the spark has got changed cuz thats how it looks like? I ll take carb off and clean it then I ll go further in to cylinder head. Thanx guys

I wouldn't think that your ignition timing is off, it should still run, just poorly if that was a problem, and the way to test it actually is to just replace it with a known good component, pull one off of your friend's bike and see if it works. But if you have a spark, I'd think it would run. Plenty of good tips above, just take everything apart and clean it.

I ve checked everything and kickin didnt help. Last chance was a strong push. And it worked!!! I found out a lot of water that was still in the engine so I get a cheap motor oil, put it in start and flushed. Three times and everything got back to a proper condition. Thanks guys.
