Not to revived an old thread but my brake is pretty bad now. There is very little stopping power and it almost pulls to the bar. I've done a few bleeds but have been thinking about doing either the honda upgrade or brembo. I am on a 21 yz250x. Does anyone know if I can just swap a full +19 CRF front brake onto my bike? Caliper, line and master cylinder?

Sounds like an issue with a seal either in the  master cylinder. I have a stock set up off a 2023. I could sell you if you want? I went to the Dubach with the old caliber and Brembo, master

The caliper won't fit. I put a 2019+ CRF450 master cylinder on my 2004 YZ250 with a stainless line. Works great! Highly recommend it.

Did you use a line for a CRF or just a YZ?

Thanks

Pretty sure I used a YZ line. I think the CRF line would probably work though

So similar to a zip tye?

When I was working as a Harley tech, anytime I had a bike on the lift for more than 2 hours I would zip tie it. When a bike was left overnight dudes would freak about how good their brakes were. I would also clean and exercise the brakes which is simply removing the brake bolts and using the disc to collapse the pistons and then using the brakes to close them up all the while spraying them with brake parts cleaner. It frees the pistons up so they move easy. Should be a part of regular maintenance.

Yup, the CRF master is the key component here. Regarding brake line, OEM will work but is a little tight as banjo fitting is on inside of Honda master.

Is it possible to rebuild Yamaha, KX, or Suzuki master cylinders with the Honda parts? What makes the honda master so much better? Is it in the lever geometry?

Been busy but finally installed the CRF Master from MotoStuff and got a cheap-ass Tusk braided front line. Brake is freaky responsive. I was planning on replacing the caliper seals but I don't think I will. Note, that tusk line is a little bit short. It still fits, but with the line now attaching on the rider side of the master instead of the front wheel side, it's a reach.

Teams were using Honda master cylinders in the mid 90's in Australia. They have been good for as long as I can remember.

Core Moto CRF brake line with +1" length is the way to go.
