Went HITLIS and it works better with a stock head shape.

RK Tech Head similar dome to a XC

APEX Head with XC dome. (SOLD)

Both low miles and worked great just don't need anymore.

$200 each located in CT and will ship.  YZ250X Heads 1 0.jpg?VersionId=gV5izEDkMu29AMxqvkS

Curious if you tried the power valve washer removal mod prior to going Hitlis? I think “in theory” it does something similar. PM me if that is easier. Thanks Smile

I went with Hitlis as well. The powervalve washer mod doesn’t even compare.

I have an Apex head with the MX dome. I haven’t tried Hitlis without the Apex head. Maybe I should put the stock head back on and see the difference.

My previous setup was XC head and PV mod, stock pipe with shorty silencer, boyesen pro reeds, Suzuki needle, and one step down power jet.  It was very very good.  Nice roll on, good mid range surge and more over rev than stock.

HITLIS with stock head and corrected squish (should be similar to MX dome) has more bottom, no hit and less over rev.  Don't take the no hit as soft on power, it's the same power just no abrupt surge like stock.  The dome shape is what I'm guessing added the bottom end power but also limited the over rev.  For the technical stuff we ride/race in the North East I like the HITLIS style of power but wished it over rever slightly more.  I have a Bill's pipe I might give a shot at as it's suppose to have a broad power curve.

Good info & thanks guys as I will look into this one a bit more.

As for the Bills pipe you will probably find it more as a mid to low pipe. Dr.D made a VERY good pipe for our bikes but good luck finding one Sad I have a stock, PC, FMF, Scalvini, HGS, DEP & TYGA as this is the only one that has escaped me LoL 🤪
Overall my favorite is the DEP but you would probably like the HGS or FMF pipe the best for all around power. Peak power is the PC hands down but gives up so much down low power you must ride it on the pipe to squeeze it for what its worth.

Dr.D is making 2 stroke pipes again I just don't know if it is the same pipe he made 20 years ago.  I've never liked PC pipes, great for Moto if your a run and gun rider not so much for us woods guys that hit the track once and awhile.
