I'm looking into changing the front brake system on my YZ since i can't get the feeling i'd like!
I see guys go for the ktm brembo hand lever with hondas master cylinder?
Is their anyone who have done the swap and know which parts that fit?
I used a Brembo master cylinder from a 2013 KTM 350SXF on my 2007 YZ250 and it worked well. Brembo bolt to YZ brake hose.
And stock caliper?
Yes, stock Nissin caliper.
Keep in mind that the 2007 YZ caliper had 27mm pistons while the 2008+ YZ calipers all have 23mm pistons.
The Dubach / Keefer setup is the old 27mm YZ caliper and the old 11mm brembo master cylinder.
The modern '08 - '25 YZ brake systems are inconsistent from bike to bike, but when they work well, with OE pads and a 270mm rotor they feel similar to brembo. Modern brembo calipers have 24mm pistons.
There's a forum member who machines a nice bracket to hang a modern brembo / KTM caliper on the YZ fork. You can run a complete brembo system from a current KTM with his part.
If you want a firm lever without the excessively grabby brembo feel, the complete honda system from 2008 up to 2018 is a great setup. Running a stainless hose and OE honda pads with a 270mm rotor is the ultimate front brake if that type of feel is what you want.
