If any thing it would be wildrat or Aztec. I went to many a local race at Thunder valley and only saw Andrew race there a handfull of times. There are also a lot of private tracks around Colorado springs that all the local pros ride at . Home state sure. Home track not.
Wildrat, hmm, went to Colorado once to visit Paul Lindsay and Jared Carlson, remember seeing Short dominate Wildrat, back then he was just a kid getting his career going, so impressive to see how far he has come......But Cygnus, even if Thunder Valley is not his "home track", he is the only pro at his level that can call it his, and thats why the media plays it that way too, every time the series heads there, its always labelled Shorty's track....and i can see why. Who else is at his level that grew up racing the SRAC races? Tedesco?

I asked Andrew about this one, and he said that he'd ridden there starting on a PW, 60 and 85. He also mentioned that he didn't ride there much during the 125 days because it was closed.

He also said that for a while, he was riding more at a track near Colorado Spring (I can't remember which one he said), because he could get there after school.

But I think he's got plenty of laps on Lakewood.

Well Highsider, it is a story filled with twist and turns. Pete started racing Honda 90's back in the late 60's and ended up burning most of his body. Not sure what the burn class was but it was enough to make most of his skin very shiny. Keep in mind that Pete is a full albino and bald since his teens. You could say Pete kinda stuck out like Johnny "O" when he as on team mugen...ALL BRIGHT WHITE.
I was racing in the 250 expert class in Keithsburg and some guy pulled right into me as I was lapping him...it was Pete . He tried to introduce himself while I lay on the ground...I told him I was busy trying to win the race...that was Pete always trying to be friendly .Pete actually took out a number of top riders over the years as they were being lapped....he said it was a good way to meet people. Over the years Pete put on weight....around 320 lbs, 5" 3". So Pete invented some pretty special suspenders and sold them around the country. Ultimately, the profit from his brain storm allowed him to purchase DVR.
Make no mistake, we always have the best camping spot @ Thundervalley (next to John Ayers and Davey Coomb's)...Pete went from being poor skinning kid in Iowa to mega power player in the world of MX promotions.
Great story! I was laughing out loud reading this!

See you, and the boys, in a day or two.

The track near Colorado Springs he was referencing is probably Aztec Raceway, I ran into him out there a fair amount when I managed to get out there after school. He would always have a box van out in the parking lot at school ready to head out.

I should have palled up with him better, maybe I would have got some more riding time in. I also might not suck as bad.

Fat Pete....

I didn't know you owned a computer.

Also, please tell your son to stop telling people he beat Short once. I don't care if Andrew crashed.
