With the B to A fiasco fading into the limelight, I have a question.

Can B riders now jump back and forth to A at will?

For example... my son has a 12.86 RPV a true B rider by AMA standards.
I guess the 2007 RPV ratings are a moot point now.

Can he race locally in A (non AMA, fair races, etc...), possibly make a little $$ then jump back to B at qualifiers/regionals, etc... it seems there are no rules now.

If I remember, Holliday's letter said something about no B to A advancements in 2008.

No, well yes, but no. You can ride the A class a certain number of times(5), taking no purse money winnings and still keep your B rider status. Once you take money you are an A rider. And besides do you really want to teach your kid to be a sandbagger like his ole man?

No Breck I', a 47 yr old "saggy" bagger if you know what I'm talking about!

It was just a thought and I really doubt I'm the first SOB that has thought or even done this.

My point though is, are there really any rules to keep people from doing this in 2007.

Plus, I always thought regardless of finishes, once you are in A, you're A?

Hey as long as someone can prove he raced the A class at a race AMA or not, his loss... and trust me someone always will know!

You already have kids doing the same thing now. They moved up either late last year or at the beginning of this year, then when Holliday rolled, all of the sudden they're back in B now.

Kind of like a "get out of A class free" card!

A result in jumping back and forth, would be a protest.

If you race the "A" class, then go win, a "B" class you are subject to being Protested, and losing.

Stay in the "B" class until you are completely ready to compete in the "A" class.

But yes, it happens all the time. Some people like to be out front no matter what.

Don't listen to Breck

If you run A, you're A
You can't prove if you did or didn't take money, so it's irrelevant.
You race A, and someone can prove it, no Ref is gonna give a shit about points, money, times race or where you finished, you're A

B races B only
Race A, you're A

Hasn't MXSports changed they way they do eligibility protest now?

I don't believe you can just show up at LL with results and get someone disqualified anymore, can you?

Exactly...if you doubt someone show results. It's not hard to prove.

Supposed to do it beforehand.
I think that's bullshit, because you don't get an entry list to review until AFTER the protest period ends.

Why doesn't MXSports do the checking after all of the regionals are ran. If they would do it and people knew they were going to get busted, a lot of the sandbagging issues would vanish

Too many people, not enough time and zero liability in "see no evil"

The "zero liability/see no evil" is the major reason.

Really all you need to check are the B & C classes. A classes don't care and most of the rest are "age" mini classes.

Hell, we could get volunteers here at VitalDrive to do the research!
