Looking at skid steers and excavators.

I'm on the west coast.

Any idea why equipment drops so much as you go east?..

Are these things trash or are we getting burned on the west coast!?....I realise some places have salt but man,it's worth me getting a flight to Texas or Indiana and paying the $2500 shipping back to Washington and I'd still be $20k ahead!?...

What am I missing? ...trying not to buy over 5000 hours and there seems like good deals.

I would guess it could be EPA issues easing a bit as you move East?

I recently was determined to find a skid steer and a mini x but same as you, I was dumbfounded on how expensive the hot garbage is in WA and much of the PNW.

A few years back we were looking to replace our drilling rig with a used one…at 500-700k used and 1.2million for a new one that didn’t happen so we spent around 150 thousand to mechanically restore ours. Sure it may be ugly and look far past its prime but it’s a reliable piece of equipment for 1/4 the price of buying a lightly used unit with a pretty paint job and newer truck under it….food for thought if you already have something you’re looking to replace

For sure! I enquired about the new Kubota and the payment seemed like it would stretch us so I'm looking in the $30k range.

Learning that may have to go up...

I've also found there's a massive fraud/scam going on in regards to second hand equipment

I knew what I wanted couldn't happen

kubota is over rated.

One of our hay suppliers got sick of waiting for parts. When they told him it would take 14 days to get a radiator hose he sold it and got a kioti

check out case/new holland machines. most are the same with different plastic.

got a 75a without a cab (would not fit in several of our structures with cab) and it has been an awesome machine.

I hear you.

I have a '96 new holland lx 865 with about 15,000 hours. I don't use it nearly as much at gf's stable as I did when I ran races, but it still surprises me what it can get done.

Recently found a guy building a salvage yard for them and usable parts are pretty reasonable. Have aquired hyd pumps and axle assemblies, which are about the only parts I have had to replace in 25 years other than hose and repacks.
