I have a new gasket that goes in between the reed valve and cylinder, but do I need one on the other side of the reed valve for in between the carb joint and the reed valve? Dumb question I’m sure but I don’t want to take any chances

When new the intake boots raised ridges at matting surface acts as a gasket, if the intake is older the raised ridges get flatter & could be a source of an air leak, I have used a 2nd intake gasket in this case….a leakdown test can be performed around the intake reed area to confirm the seal.
