So I have a top triple clamp from pro curcit. They came with aluminum cones for the bar mounts. I'd like to use rubber cones. So I check with pro curcit and was told they don't have rubber cones and that rubber cones are dangerous to use and not as safe.? Has anyone tried switching to the rubber cones? And witch ones did you use as on the pro curcit clamp take a bigger cones than the stock suzuki cones.
I don't see a problem using rubber cones on them clamps. We used rubber cones for 4 years in that Era. I kept plenty new ones in the drawer to replace after crashes where the rubbers got twisted or squashed.
I Stand to be corrected but the stock OEM Kawa rubbers from around 2011/2012 models should work fine with your top clamp.
Hit Luxom up here on Vital as he is the resident Professor with these types off questions.
If they machined cone pockets in the clamps in the first place, then that was specifically for a rubber cone. There's nothing unsafe about using the rubber cones, so long as you use the correct ones.
I don't know what cones they designed their clamps around, but if I had to guess, it would be Honda or possibly Yamaha cones. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and KTM cones are all different from one another, so you'll just have to try some and see what fits.
Hey. Thanks guys. I appreciate your help I now have a direction to go
