TOTAL SWIM 1.2 mi. (45:51) 2:24/100m 431
So he swam an average of 2:24 per 100m (about 100 yds)
That's not bad

My twelve year old son swam 1.6 miles in one hour during his swim-a-thon two weeks ago. That's a 2:33 per 100 time. In his 200m time, last summer he was just over 2 minutes (like 2:08) which was 2 seconds off of state.
So, sounds like that guy was doing pretty good.

TOTAL BIKE 56 mi. (3:03:19) 18.33 mph 814
56 miles in 3 hrs at a 18 MPH avg is not bad at all.
18 mph on a bike is humping, especially considering it's not flat there
TRANSITION TIME
T1: SWIM-TO-BIKE 7:54
T2: BIKE-TO-RUN 7:17
He's also in 814th place and was in 1638 at the start of the bike according to the chart

Oh, and Bobby, I got passed by two amputees. Both below the knee. Those guys can fly with those springs on.
And dean, come out and race with me. I am not fast by any means, but at least I am out doing something. I am pretty much all over north america racing this year. Let me know what your schedule is like, I'll see if I can get you an entry if I am racing close to you.

No, for the most part on the run course, I ate pretzels, coke, and oatmeal raisin cookies. Little gatorade too.
below the knee? fucking pooseys....

Remember your first Tri in Temecula? Well its been a year cause its just 2 weeks away. New course/location this year. But your gonna still be recovering
I broke down and bought a good MTB and am going to do the Xterra at Vail in may. The bike course is sick. So is the run.
Again, congratulations on seeing a finish line
Muscle spasms and all? Sounds better than the inestinal issues from what, a year ago?

Swim was pretty calm for about 2/3's of it. Once we got out of the harbor, there were some good rollers. Couldn't see the buoys at times in between swells. I took it super easy in the swim. I just need to get better at pacing myself. The bike was easy for me. Course had right at 4,000 feet of elevation gain. I took it pretty easy, I could have put down around 21 mph average if I wasn't saving it for the run. Wind the last 10 miles, about 10-15 mph head wind, I think I passed about 80 bikes in the last 10 miles. LOL! Yea, world of difference from last year. Its all coming together, slowly. The xterra, I thought about it. But, I am not allowed to race it. Coach and sponsors say no for me. The bike course is pretty techincal. Also, I'll be in florida to race Disney 70.3 again I think. CAF asked me to race it for them. So, I think I'll be there instead. I might be at carslbad for the 5000 though.

"The only limits we have in life are those we give ourselves." That is from one of the top Ironman distance racers in the world. Its on a board in my kitchen. I see it everyday I get up, when I leave, when I come home. Its always there to remind me. What you want in life, you need to go and get. No one is going to hand you anything. In the end, excuses are what you make. Not what happens to you. However, with that in mind, I will say that spending time with your three kids means more then training for tri's. Being in shape to see them grow is important, but what is more important, chasing racing goals or time with your family?
