I have one and it quietens a thumper significantly and when we tested it on the dyno, my 450 only lost 1hp. I tried using it at the track but I couldn't hear my own bike in a pack of stock and aftermarket piped thumpers.

I agree and have had one for around a year. Type "dawg" in the search engine at Thumpertalk and you can see the great writeup by camp!

on the dyno it showed a 1 hp loss but how was it in the real world at the track? could you notice a difference? im all about quieting the darn thumpers down, when i had my RMZ 250 i could never hear the motor when in a pack which sometimes i wouldnt know if i needed to shift or not... my 450 has so much power shifting isnt as much of an issue...

Put a tach on that baby. Then you can tell if your corner exit speed is good!

When I was at the right rpm it made no noticeable difference. As long as I was alone, it was fine. As soon as I got in a pack of bikes, I found that it was difficult to stay in the meat of the power because I couldn't hear the bike. If everyone was quiet, it would be great.

It depends on the bike. My CRF450 ran well without any rejetting.

I haven't even read the rest of this thread. This is so true. When I got rid of the outrageous sound, it took me awhile to get back in the groove. I couldn't hear my own bike...or so I thought.
I started wearing earplugs about 3 years ago. It's the only way I can ride 4S and not kick in my tinnitus. My bike (and the others) is so loud, I have turned around (and gone back to get my plugs) on the way to the track and inserted earplugs on at least 50 occasions. I'll pass on a race start if I forget.
It is really a crisis for dirt bikes.
