Stuck float?

Haven't started this bike for 2 months

When I came out to it there was a pool of gas beneath it which it assuming is a stuck float..

Fired it up tonight and it shat the bed on the shop floor and I'm not understanding why so much ??

Where has this been sitting ?

Bike ran for 10-15 seconds before I noticed and shut it off

Likely that the float needle valve needs to be replaced. Since it’s just been sitting and leaking over time it’s probably just not sealing good. Generally with a stuck float it would just be pouring out

I'm about to take the carb off this morning.

My wife said she noticed the pool beneath and turned fuel off 

Has this mix been sitting in the pipe? Essentially flowing forward? Pass the reeds,cyclinder and into the base of the pipe with gas off?

It started fine and thought it would have wet the plug 🤷🏼‍♂️

If you mean has it been flowing into the engine. if the float was stuck and it was pouring out gas, then yes probably. But it’s pretty rare for a float to just stick and start letting it pour through while just sitting there, as when they stick while sitting they normally stick closed and won’t let fuel through at all.

But if the seal on the float needle is bad and it was just the needle slowly letting it leak out then the overflow should have let it all drain into the floor long before the bowl was full enough to leak into the engine.

Exactly my point!

Pulled the pipe off yesterday and was able to pour it like a kettle...

Gave the bowl and tap and no longer dripping but still an absolute pain in the ass to start....

I'll pull it off and go thru and give it clean.

Would reeds play a role if  the starting problem?...and/or

Letting fuel thru.

Pulled the pipe off yesterday and was able to pour it like a kettle...

Never experienced it but I’ve heard bad reeds can cause hard starting and low rpm issues. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to pull it off and make sure they still seal while the carb is off
