Would have posted this in the "region" category but couldn't figure out which region Utah is in. LMAO!!!

Are there any good tracks in the Ogden / SLC area that are open to the public? Might make a road trip.

215MX is the best maintained and built track in SLC. It is literally minutes from downtown. Jordan River OHV is also right next to it but is horribly maintained and full people who have no business on an MX track.

Ogden has OCA which is for members only but it's pretty easy to get in still if you know someone local.

Tooele is about 30 minutes from SLC and has an OK track. Worth the drive if nothing else is open that day.

Your best bet is to come the third week of Aug. and race Powder Mtn. MX and ride 215MX whenever you can.

i'm a lifetime member at OCA so it's no problem to get you a guest pass. only problem is i have to be there with you, which shouldn't be a problem as long as i plan it in advance.

215 is a sick track but i think it's only open certain days. i could be wrong about that.

oh, and like faction said, the Powder Mtn. race is coming up and will have two days dedicated to practice. hopefully they mellow out the finish straight, lotta people got carted out of there last year.

Shit, they better not mellow that straight out.....it was sick! It was way easier than it looked too but there will always be those that can't handle stuff I guess.

215MX is open wed, sat, sun and occasionally other days. See their Facebook for updates.

You riding right now peelout?

Jordan River is a blast. Tooele is a blast. Delta (down a ways) is a blast. Ogden has a track.

Tooele is the only one I have ridden, since it is close to my buddies place. Not bad, but a little tight and dusty.

I will have to check out 215MX next time I am up that way....

The finish line jump alone is enough reason to ride that track. Cool

Faction did you sign your factory contract yet? You should since it sounds like you were getting over the section at powder mountain so easily. By the way are you clearing the 3x at OCA or doing the 150ft 2x at 215 yet? ha ha ha ha ha ha

Well look who woke up from their mid-afternoon nap! Just in time to shoot your mouth off on the internet. We'll see who is clearing everything at 215 tomorrow AND the fastest in the turns.....it's on old man!!

Is that the new(ish) track next to Jordan River? I havent ridden it yet but it looks fun. Must be hard on some of the bigger jumps to dodge the life flights leaving the Jordan RIver track.

What was the place that was open years ago with the huge step ups......no track that I remember, had some junk cars laying around.

Might have been an old quarry? They filmed a few MX movie segments there.

Don't mean to wake up this thread but,

I got a kx100 bike last monday and haven't been able to ride it yet. To get into MX I had to sell my mountain bike. (I was a fairly skilled mountain biker if that helps with mx) I can't drive yet so that is a disadvantage. Also, my dad doesn't ride so it is even harder. My mom is willing to take me somewhere to ride as long as it is under 40 minutes away from the Sandy area. Can you tell me about good beginner trails that are close by to ride? Also, We come to Manilla, Utah (Flaming Gorge area) because we have a second home up there. I would also like to know of some good riding around there. My dad might get a Yamaha Rhino and ride with me like I follow him or something.

Thanks
