Hey guys picked up a 2004 kx125. Little story on it the chain broke and cracked the case. So it sat for many years and forgotten. Guy I got it from brought it from this friend in hopes of fixing it and getting it going. He lost interest and that's where I came in. Picked it up and plan is to bring it back to its glory day and make it a runner. Came with a bunch of parts both new and old but hoping it will be a fun project for sure. Hoping to get it apart and start working on getting it powdercoated and the engine apart . Little update got the bike fully taken apart and started to do inventory on what is all there and needed. I started to clean up some of the parts and will soon be taking the engine apart to get the cases replaced and engine rebuilt. I don't think I've ever seen a works pipe brought back from the dead this well. What was your process?

As far as the pipe i started with a flap wheel (60 to 80 grit) on 4 1/2 grinder and lightly went over the whole pipe. Next step I used a fine pad on my demel tool and did another pass cleaning up the pipe again. Then I hand scrotchbrited the whole thing again. Taped off the logo and painted and then quick scrotch pad that area to remove extra paint. Finally heat treated the weld joints. Took some time but happy with the result. Thanks
