Late Saturday night, get your Sunday race in early.
This is what I found to be the most amazing:
"...Disc brakes consist of a rotor and caliper at each wheel. Expensive carbon-carbon (the same material used on the Space Shuttle) composite rotors - introduced by the Brabham team in 1976 - are used instead of steel or cast iron because of their superior frictional, thermal, and anti-warping properties, as well as significant weight savings. These brakes are designed and manufactured to work in extreme temperatures, up to 1,000 degrees Celsius. The driver can control brake force distribution fore and aft to compensate for changes in track conditions or fuel load. Regulations specify this control has to be manual, not electronic.
An average F1 car can decelerate from 100-0 km/h (62-0 mph) in about 17 metres (55 ft), compared with a 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo which takes 31.4 metres (103 feet).[citation needed] When braking from higher speeds, aerodynamic downforce enables tremendous deceleration: 4.5 g to 5.0 g (44.1 to 49 m/s²), and up to 5.5 g at the high-speed circuits such as the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (Canadian GP) and the Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Italian GP). This contrasts with 1.0 g to 1.5 g for the best sports cars (the Bugatti Veyron is claimed to be able to brake at 1.3 g). An F1 car can brake from 200 km/h (124 mph) to a complete stop just 2.9 seconds, using only 65 meters (213 ft).[6]..."

That's just nuts.

I think that signifies the different compound, there are two different tire compounds and each car must run both during the race. Gotta love the Asian rounds late night racing here in the states
The thing that frightens me, though, is how fast they come apart. Coulthard's practice crash where he hit some of the curbing and the front suspension on both sides came apart was scary.

I'd imagine they're doing that intentionally to allow portions of the car to absorb the collision energy.
That's wasn't right

how you feel qualified to make fun of anyone is a mystery to me

Wait till next year when they take off 50% of the aero package, no traction control w/o downforce! Hopefully that will help with the cars being able to drive better in dirty air so we see more passing.
Dont the incar cameras give ya an eargasm? i love that shit so much.
I finally started believing in Hamilton and he comes in 5th? This year is going to be good, across the board I feel the drivers seem to be well matched. Lack of traction control has everyone in fits. Massa disappointed me too. I was curious if Hamilton was just not feeling it. From Friday he was off his pace.

The penalty hurt them probably mentally as well.
