I was a 2nd-3rd grader in 1989-90. I remember a book at my school's library that seemed to start my interest in motocross. Could be long shot but does anyone remember names of kids mx books from that era? I'd love to find that book again to share with my kids.
All I can remember is the detail the book went into in explaining the race day activities and "motos".
I started school in the mid 90s and can vividly remember getting in trouble for taking the only motocross book our library had every single time lol. It’s probably the same book you’re talking about
Might be a stretch but I found this book in the school library around the same age but in the early 2000s. It's from the mid 80s I believe. I was already into dirt bikes but it was the first book I read and what initially sparked my interest in writing and journalism
LOL, yep; that was me too!
Thanks! I'll look into that one.

In the books that they had in my high school in the mid 80s they were riding pentons and hodakas I believe. As I recall, there was a whole series of them and I loved them. I would love to find those books again.
Rocket man Andrews and the Asby Gap Gang, written by a woman whos kids raced M.A.M.A in the early 1980's.
Do any of these covers ring a bell? I also remember checking out books from the library on motocross and bmx from around that same time, and I specifically remember a book on bmx that was definitely from the early 80's and the bikes and gear seemed so strange looking to me?!
