It is kinda of a Bummer Actually. If it was the bike do you think the Allessi's would let everyone know ? I think they would be very vocal about. They are being very quiet which is a little creepy and very strange.

I'm confused, I thought that was a tree thing.
It's fairly straightforward and I don't have a box of crayons handy.

I'm going to bet you have plenty of crayons handy, not to mention that broad brush you use to paint some folks around here.

Much like the one you use on Tony Alessi in the majority of these threads.

I'll take the broad brush over the torches and pitchforks any day.

Actually I defy you to find a post where I bash Tony or Mike or anything Alessi related.
I usually take the attitude of amused observer.

I'm not the torch and pitchfork type.

It's Grendel.

And ol ger's hands aren't allowed anywhere below his waist without receiving an electric shock.

Maybe he just doesn't fit with the 350 as well as last years Suzuki? Not saying that the KTM is worse than the Zook, but some bikes fit some people better than others.

Very nice and classy post.

On a side note M.A has always been a better big bike rider. Why put him on a smaller bike other than he couldn't find anyone else who wanted to sign him?

Grant put an aggressive pass on him before the sandwash in the 2nd moto. After that, he just sat back and looked like he was cruising.

He was definitely underpowered with the hills at Millville also.

That single on the return trip in the whoops cost that 350 a shitload, every 450 I saw would just hook and pull him ... right there it was game over for the 800 in my eye.

memo to track mgr's if you hate 800 make a single to nowhere on a sand uphill and watch the 350.

It was painful to watch.

wtf are you guys talkin about? Dungey is makin guys just give up and go home. It looks like a whole bunch of guys (ie AS) just are demoralized by this guy. I love this sport and I live to see the rerun or live cast of the races, but I swear its so boring I fall straight to sleep watching them. I know MA is sucking but how about the other guys that are kneeling and bobing?

I really want to see him get a holeshot and see if he can run the pace now. It's obvious he needs the start but now that everyone is smoking him every weekend, it would be neat to see if he steps it up with a holeshot or fade back.

Mike is riding hard, got bad starts and is not on pace with the lead group.

Let's see, what's different in the equation from dominating last year prior to an injury to today?

He's about 4 years past moving away from the family team, and getting into a factory team management style. Just my opinion..

That's been a key for past success. Look to Larrocco for an example. Seems Dungey is getting along fine at the Suzuki rig with Roger too. Mom and Dad are around, but not running the show.
I'd have to disagree a little. MA was up front last year for a few races until he crashed out with the knee injury. That wasn't too deep into the season last year. We don't know what would have happened to him last year - he didn't make it that far. If you take out his wash outs / crashes at Freestone this year, then 2 races into this year he is clearly in the lead just like he was last year. He was running 2:09 lap times with RD at Freestone - the only other rider there to do it that day. And that was on 350. Up until that point, he was right in the thick of the competition speed wise. I know he washed out, but he had no issues passing people, getting decent starts, etc. Go back and look at the results. Each and every race, he has gotten progressively worse. Worse starts, worse finishes, etc. He's been in a steady decline ever since the Freestone crashes. If it was the bike, he wouldn't have been where he was in the first 2 races of the season.

Something isn't right, but I don't think it is the bike (not saying you said it was the bike or anything). I just disagree that he started this season that much differently than last season really. Who knows, he may have mentally wigged out last season too had he not cracked his knee cap.

It's mild compared to most of the hateful crap wrapped in piety he spews. But keep fixating, "Sherwood". Because that's always worked out so well for you.

On to the bike, I'm inclined to believe that Mike isn't up to par as he's admitted. But I have my doubts about the 350.

It's not the bike... or at least not all...

Said it before...

Alessi is the worst and best rider for that bike... Typically he's a great starter, so he should negate that weakness... But even at his best, he's not great at coming through the pack... So if he doesn't and he's getting worked by guys who can throw a 450 about, he's going nowhere...

I also don't think he's feeling great, or that his bike suspension wise, is set up that great... That's not the bike, even Goose said Mikey isn't the best tester, and before he's mostly had teammates or more resources to help get that thing dialed...

Anyone who thinks it's the bike isn't paying attention to AC whooping up on Europe...And yes, it's a 350... But a 350 that's working well for him!!!
