Someone asked me to pass this along, and it seems like quite an event, and we like the cause.

Thanks for posting this GuyB!

Just for a little more information about this event.

The ride will start in Oceanside CA late Feb next year and will ride across the country, being on the freeways as little as possible. So far, if we go the route planned, i think we use approx 30 miles of freeway. We will arrive in Daytona around lunch time on the 6th of March and ride to the Daytona Supercross.

We have BMX and X Games legend Chad Kagy signed up to ride as well as Ricky Johnson and a few of the WMX riders as of now. Participants can sign up for the whole ride or part there of. We have 2 magazines covering the event. Although we are riding actual scooters the ride is open to any motorcycle rider that has a registered bike. A RV and trailer and a SUV and trailer will go along for support, carrying all the essentials like snacks, drinks, gas and spares and a rider can load up and ride along in comfort if they choose to wimp out of any part of the ride.

Funds raised are going to support Breast Cancer Research and also to the Loma Linda Children's Hospital.

SCOOTERS FOR HOOTERS CROSS COUNTRY RIDE
to benefit breast cancer research and Loma Linda Children’s Hospital

LAKE ELSINORE, CA, JULY 18, 2010 — The Maley Foundation announced today that they will be hosting a cross country ride to benefit breast cancer research and Loma Linda Children’s Hospital.

The benefit ride will begin in Oceanside California on February 23, and continue through March 6, 2011 ending in Daytona Beach Florida just in time for Daytona Bike Week. Participants will also attend the Daytona Supercross.

In addition to a variety of WMX riders, BMX legend Chad Kagy, and AMA Motocross/Off Road Truck legend Ricky Johnson have committed to participating in this event. Justin Maley, a former tour guide for KTM Adventure Tours, motorcycle instructor and former Motocross champion will guide the tour along with many other celebs who have committed to join the ride along the way.

80% of all proceeds will benefit breast cancer research while 20% will benefit Loma Linda Children’s Hospital in California.

Although the ride is officially called "Scooters 4 Hooters" participation is open to any registered motorcycle. Riders can choose to participate in the entire ride or any portion of their choosing. We encourage all who are interested to “Like” the “Scooters 4 Hooters” Facebook page where you will find the daily ride route, sponsor and event registration information.

The Maley Foundation is in the process of legally establishing itself as a non-profit organization. The success of “Scooters 4 Hooters” will be the first of many events that will focus on ways of giving back to the community.
