Admittedly, I like looking at data that comes from when I'm exercising and really like to see data from when real athletes are doing the same thing.
Several years ago, I think at Daytona, they put metrics on the screen while heat races were running. I distinctly remember looking at Justin Brayton's heart rate being over 200 for a huge part of the heat and being in awe. Does anyone else remember this?
And, why don't they do this now.? It would be awesome to see the freaks of nature that these dudes are while they're racing. Is everyone to secretive too ever let it happen again?
Agreed, this would be a great feature. Remember a few years ago when Kailub Russel posted his garmin data after a GNCC? I think he was averaging 180+ BPM for the entire 3 hours. Insane.
The 'G' forces as well. It might convince a non-rider that you don't just sit there and turn the throttle.
The more info the better. HR, breath rate, top speed, distance traveled. Even just the basics that a Garmin would tell you would be really cool
I'm guessing these dude don't want that information out there?

I think g-forces would be fine. Private health information is another matter though. I guess the racers could waive their privacy, but what’s in it for them?
More screen time, more sponsorship notoriety and people remembering their name. If they did a 15 second segment on Dylan Ferandis in the heat and main, we might think about him more often and actually know who his sponsors are.

Yeah, obviously I'm not saying do it without their permission. Just whoever was willing to do it.
The HR monitoring they put up was useless.
Brayton being at 200 says absolutely nothing since HR is individual. No one knows if he was at 80, 90 or 98%% of his max HR.
Someone else in the field is at 160. Oh wow he is well trained. Nope. 160 was his max HR, so he is possibly the worst in terms of being in shape.
I think it is interesting, if they also put up their individual max HR for each rider and percent of max HR. Or at least the later.
