"Democratic Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono has been slammed following her opening questions to Doug Burgum on Thursday.
Burgum faced senator’s questions following his nomination for the Interior Secretary role in Donald Trump’s administration.
"First is, since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favours or committed any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a sexual nature,” she asked.
Burgum calmly answered Hirono’s opening question, saying, “No senator I have not”.
Hirono followed up her initial question, asking Burgum if he “ever faced discipline or entered into a settlement related to this kind of conduct?”
“I have not,” Burgum said."
