Hi everyone.

On my way to Canada for a snowboard trip, I have organised to stop in Glendale for the race. As a huge moto fan this will be an amazing experience that I have always wanted to do.

There is another thread similar to this (below) from some other Australians, but mine is a little different.

I know where I am staying, got my uBer sorted, got great seats, and know I need a monster can for the pit party. What I am after is:  tips, tricks, and opportunities for an amazing experience.

I know its asking a lot, but any industry experiences like meeting people, or a track walk or any sort of one in a lifetime experience I would be very keen for.   (yes I know there are separate VIP experiences - but these are a bit beyond my budget as I've already spent a lot just to get to Glendale).

Also keen to kick on for food, drink and generally a good time. So if people know where the best places are to go, or are keen to party with an Aussie, please reach out.
I am only in town for 36 hours, so going to send it (LOL) and sleep on the plane.

Hey mate, I'm the starter of the thread you linked. Epic trip and I'm holding out hope that Qantas put flights on special again so I can come back, but it's not looking promising!

I don't want to throw names out in case the same people can't deliver this year, but go through my thread for some amazing contacts that made my race weekend experience extremely memorable! Some do prefer to stay under the radar.

We found relying on ubers a little difficult, especially post event, as the vast majority of people drive and park, so a lot of post event traffic. Glendale is maybe half an hour (from memory) from the airport. Not a big deal if you're not too bothered by uber bills racking up or as you say already sorted.

- Get there for gates opening! (was 11am last year). Witnessing opening laps and quali in a mostly empty stadium is awesome. Plenty of time between sessions to head into the pits.

- Saturday breakfast: We headed for breakfast Saturday morning around 9am and found that all of the major breakfast restaurants in the stadium vicinity had a 45 min to 1 hour wait to get a seat - apparently this is an accepted thing? So be prepared to wait for food.

- Don't forget your Monster can for pit entry - you can't buy them anywhere directly close to the stadium without a massive walk or uber trip to a local servo or supermarket - prepare ahead as buying pit passes gets expensive.

- The Westgate entertainment precinct across from the stadium is the spot. We were sat at the bar at Yard House on Friday night when Jeremy Coker and some Yamaha guys walked in - pretty cool. Beta team was there at the time also.

Shout out if I can help with anything else!

Glendale is a great venue. Our hotel was close when we went so everything was walking distance.  Second the yard house for a beer and food 🤙🏻

Thanks Bud. I did read your thread and seen you had some amazing experiences. I didn't want to overstep my mark and reach out to anyone direct, so thought by creating a new post, I would see what opportunities presented themselves.

Good advice on the other stuff. Unfortunately with my flights I will get to Phoenix Saturday morning, and once I clear customs and get across town I will arrive at the stadium at 2pm. Will miss gates opening, but will certainly see practice and qualy.

I am staying nearby so I can walk to the stadium, and will head up to the Westgate after so wont need to worry about ubers.

Hoping I run into a bunch of randoms and make friends and have some memorable experiences.

It is a great venue.  The Fanfest is really good there.

I don't have much to say in the way of supercross specific experiences, but when you're not at the track, there's a newish mini golf spot called PopStroke that opened up in Westgate that's pretty rad. Dave and Busters is there too. There are tons of restaurants/bars in the Westgate area so you really shouldn't have to leave unless you feel like exploring. Downtown Scottsdale is a good party spot, lots of people watching for sure. If the college scene is your thing, you'd probably do pretty well on Mill ave in Tempe with that Aussie accent. If you're looking to stay on the west side of town, there's quite a few options around 83rd ave and Bell rd in Peoria.

Ohhh mill ave 😂 I so dread going there but somehow still find spots in old town to enjoy.

But Aussie guy. I live close but have no knowledge on that area. If you have any plans to go into old town Scottsdale shoot me a dm and I can steer you in the right direction. Right now that’s probably where I’ll be uber to after the end of the race.

Yard house has awesome food and beers.

Tempe is not too far away and is a really cool spot, for night life. Great scenery if you know what I mean.
